Above is the link to my folder of Xmas-themed songs from the 50's to now. Including these 2 new chestnuts:

Last weekend at work, I became the 15th caller at the radio station I normally listen to (WSTW) and won a CD. I went down to the studio yesterday and chose Lady GaGa's "The Fame Monster".

Otakon isn't too far away and decided to room at the Hilton, which connects to the BCC. One of the roomies booked it. May cost a little more, but at least you won't have to worry about walking very late at night and get mugged (or worse).

Alright, ladies & gentlemen, I didn't have any tiger blood, no warlocks attacked me, and no Charlie Sheen rants this time around (LOL).

Last night, I did 2 things; register for Otakon and reserved my room at the Embassy Suites for Nekocon in November. I know Neko is not until November, but last year, the room block at the Embassy sold out by July, and I'm not taking any chances. It pays to be one step ahead!

Today, I won another CD from WSTW on Lyrics On The Loose. It was for Nirvana's "Come As You Are", which marks the 25th anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death. Now all I have to do is come to the studio and pick the CD of my choice.

Spammers and Scammers, we ARE watching you..............

If you are planning to check out the newest anime releases from Animesuki or Crunchyroll, you may want to steer clear from the newest OVA release, Nana to Kaoru. Based on the manga, Nana is an Honor Student and Kaoru is a pervert, but both of them have a secret; they love S&M. Honestly, I don't see what the smoking hot Nana sees in this creepy, peverted letch in the form of Kaoru. Face it, he's not the hottest dude in the school. I respect geeks and nerds (and I am not ashamed to embrace my inner geek), but this Kaoru is far from geek. He's an outright creepy ecchi who's only friend he has is his computer and....well, trying to keep this PG-13, you can imagine the rest.

What is it with the newest anime releases coming out nowadays? Is it that perversity and creepiness is the new thing? Believe me, I like an occasional ecchi anime with horny, testosterone dudes and gratutious nudity, but that's all.

Ladies & Gentlemen, Nana To Kaoru should definitely be labeled as 18+ just for the S&M scenes and creepiness alone. Watching this made me feel very unclean. So, if you don't want to feel unclean, save your bandwidth and stay the hell away from Nana To Kaoru. I know you will thank me for this.

Maybe I should become an anime reviewer....or not....

First of all, let me make a strong suggestion:

AVOID PANTY & STOCKING WITH GARTERBELT AT ALL COSTS!!! This is one of the poorest made anime ever made. It doesn't help that this travesty came from Gainax, the studio than can make a decent anime if they want to (Wings Of Honnemaise, Nadia), or make anime to screw with your mind (Neon Genesis Evangelion, FLCL), or make anime to just tittilate the horny fanboys (Mahoromatic, Petit Princess Yucie). This time, Gainax totally dropped the ball on this one. The animation is poorly done, something like Gainax is trying to spoof the Powerpuff Girls but ended up with a Dead Leaves ripoff. You have no feeling or empathy for the main characters. Garterbelt is a pervert who has a crush on y---g m-- (trying to keep this PG-13, kids), Panty is a made out to be a lolitaistic slut looking for the next one night stand, and Stocking doesn't fare any better, a sugar freak looking like a Visual Kei/J-Metal groupie. The plot is trying to look like Dirty Pair meets Cromartie High School, but ends up an un-watchable mess. It makes me wonder if Junko Mizuno was the character designer for this heap of dung. Never in quite a while that an anime like this infuriated and disgusts me (this is, until I saw Nana to Kaoru). I believe the only audience Panty & Stocking will attract are perverse ecchi fanboys and those with a Beavis & Butthead mentality will have a blast with this. But if any of you had any decent sense of taste, do yourself a favor, and avoid Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. You will thank me later. The only saving grace of this visual mind-screw? The music. A mix of metal and trance that adds a halfway decent touch. Buy the soundtrack, avoid the anime. But be warned; the cover of the soundtrack CD is left to be desired. Cover work that would make the most jaded ecchi fan cringe!

(Now that's out of the system)

This weekend, I was supposed to attend Tekkoshocon in Pittsburgh, but the weather down the western part of PA was pretty bad (damned Noresters). I had my bags packed in the car and ready to rock. I even called the hotel the night before and that Thursday morning to see what the weather conditions were in Pittsburgh. They pretty much said the same thing; it's just wet snow, a snow and rain mix, nothing's sticking on the ground. What should I have done? Should have I played it safe and stayed home, or just trekked on ahead and fear the worst. I didn't know what to do. So, I called the true voice of reason, my father. And he said that he wouldn't go out to Pittsburgh with the weather bring nasty and all. At that point, the decision was made. I did the smart thing and stayed put. There's always 2012.

On Wednesday, I found out that some of the staff from Info Desk was sent to Registration and others to Bag Check, and found out at the last minute, that I was on Bag Check!!! WTF!! I would have appreciated them to let me know at a decent amount of time and have the schedule set up so in case there were no conflicts and there were events I wanted to attend. But, there was no schedule, no how-to-do Bag Check. I let it be know that I was not happy being on Bag Check and that lack of communication was part of the reason, and requested that I do not want to be on Bag Check for 2012!! The red flag was that the department head e-mailed, saying that he was new to this and I should get in touch with his assistant on Thursday night. Why would he pass on responsibility on his assistant when he was supposed to be the Bag Check head!!

I texted the former Info Desk head and explained, and he said the part of the lack of communication it was his fault and part of it was the Chief Of Staff was replaced, which left a.........let's just leave it at that!

Two weeks ago, I attended my first Zenkaikon at King Of Prussia. I really enjoyed myself and became part of Con Ops staff. The rooms were awesome, with the bathtubs doubling as whirlpools. I'm still putting up my photos on my DeviantArt gallery. I had 4 decent roommates (2 girls, 2 guys, and myself) and no Creepy Chris!

I have been laid off from my job at Arctic Glacier since mid-January and supposed to head back mid-April when work picks up. Tonight, I put in an online application at Comcast for a Customer Service position. Also, it wouldn't hurt to have a job closer to home.

Last month, Foxxi turned 3. She's quite the Foxxi. LOL

Also last month, I was listening to WSTW when the announcer did "Lyrics On The Loose". That's when you have guess the title and artist of the lyrics came from. That line of lyrics went "It's all because of you, I'm feeling sad & blue..." I pulled over and called the station on my cell phone. Waited a few moments, the announcer answered the phone, I gave the answer "Sukiyaki", he asked by whom, I gave him a triple shot of Sukiyaki. The original in the 60's by Kyu Sakamoto, a remake in the 80's by A Taste Of Honey, and in the 90's by 4PM. He was surprised I knew all that!! I won a choice of either a T-Shirt or CD. So the next day I headed down to the studios and chose Maroon 5's "Hands All Over".

BTW, the announcer, WSTW's Mike Rossi, played 4PM's version. It made sense since the group was based on Harve de Grace, MD. What does 4PM stand for? For Positive Music.

This weekend as consolation, Bino got to stay with Foxxi and I for a couple of hours. I enjoy having Bino around, Foxxi always goes after his legs when they play. When Foxxi and Zee play, Zee would swat at Foxxi like at cat, but Foxxi would bop Zee's head with her butt. I guess she doesn't like Zee sniffing her from behind. LOL

Tonight, I finally get a chance to let you all know of my experience at last week's Nekocon, and much of it is still fresh in my mind.

Thursday, I left Delaware to head down to Hampton Roads, and it was a pretty dreary, rainy day. On the way down, I was listening to WSTW in my car during the All-Request Lunch Hour and the DJ played a segment called "Rossi's Random Riffs", where Mike Rossi plays a few seconds of a song and if you know the title/artist of the song and the 5th caller, you win a nice prize. I was able to get through with the correct answer ("Here Comes The Rain Again" by Eurythmics....very fitting) and won either a CD of my choice or a T-Shirt (more of what I chose will come later). I arrived the Hampton Roads Convention Center close to 6PM and got registered for Staff, I had dinner at Red Lobster while waiting for Deuce so I can get situated to the hotel room at the Embassy.

I worked the 2PM-8PM shifts at the AMS desk on both Friday & Saturday. Before my shift on Friday, I was allowed to check out the Dealers Room 2 hours before it officially opened to the con attendees. I picked up a couple of anime figures, a couple of Hello Kitty plushies for my neighbor, and a bunch of J-Snacks at the Wizzywig booth, ranging from Pocky to Melon Bread (I bought 2 of them), Black-Black caffeinated gum, Green Tea Kit-Kats, Milk Coffee, Ramune, and Hi-Chews. Because I have bought from Wizzywig at cons past, they gave me a discount on my purchases!

The J-Rock band The Sound Bee HD (courtesy of Tainted Reality) played both Friday & Saturday nights, and I volunteered to work the entrance doors with a counter to count how many attended. The band played LOUD!!! And needless to say, those who attended weren't disappointed.

On Friday night, I decided to check out the How To Draw Yuri panel. On Saturday afternoon, I was given permission to attend the cosplay. I only stayed for the entries and didn't stick around for the halftime portion, and went back to my AMS duties.

I did get one autograph during the entire weekend; voice actor Cristina Vee. I brought a DVD copy of Kannazuki no Miko for her to autograph, and a small white plushie bear as a present. Unbelievable as this may sound, but Cristina wanted my autograph on the tag of the plushie! I gladly complied. That was a first for me. I hung out at the Con Ops desk to help out with Lost & Found. A pretty good way to kill some time.

Before the post-con staff dinner, I checked into the Red Roof Inn for a room for the night, and a very good price ($35). The dinner was held at the Olive Garden, and it was good way to cap off a very successful Nekocon.

Monday morning, I departed the Red Roof for the ride home to Delaware, and at least the weather was much nicer (sunny, in fact). After crossing over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, I decided to have breakfast at the World-Famous Stingray Restaurant. I have heard very good reviews about so I decided to try it. You have to order your meal at the counter and they take it over to your table. The food and price were both very good!!

I arrived home at around 3:30PM, just in time for a home-cooked dinner (even it was leftovers from the previous night). The next day, I went to the WSTW studios and chose my prize: a Paramore CD.

Check out my cosplay photos in my DeviantArt gallery:

Can't believe Nekocon is this weekend, and I just about started packing! I finally was able to get a room at the Embassy. I will be staying with another con attendee and AMV panelist Deuce Loosely and 5 other people. My share was $80 for Thursday through Sunday nights, so there's some saved $$ right there. So I canceled the rooms at the Red Roof Inn and Hampton Inn. I plan to leave for Delaware on Thursday and should arrive Hampton Roads by at least 6PM.

I also discovered a new file sharing program since Lime Wire was forced to shut down. It's called BearShare, and I have found many songs Lime Wire couldn't find. The only drawback is the majority of what I download is DRM protected and they in WMA file, so I can't tranfer them to mp3 format, and I can't burn songs that are in wma format. But still, I think it's a pretty decent file sharing program, since Kazaa needs your credit card info, and I don't know if Morpheus still exists.

Last Thursday, I found out my aunt committed suicide by an overdose of painkillers. She had recent stomach pain and couldn't deal with the pain any longer. I just wish she could have handled it better! Her viewing/funeral service was held on the day of my 50th birthday!! I didn't even want to think about celebrating at first, but I went to my aunt viewing to pay my respects.

Later that even, I had a $20 coupon good for dinner at Caffe Gelato on the Main Street drag in Newark (Delaware, that is). I ordered the Veal Chop with roasted fingerling potatoes and grilled asparagus, along with the Peanut Butter Cup Gelato sundae for dessert. Double YUM!!

Today, I continued my birthday celebration with a dinner at Wesley's in Fair Hill, MD. I ordered the Broiled Seafood dinner (complete with King Crab legs & lobster tail). Triple YUM!!

I went to pick up a few things at Wal-Mart and found quite a surprise in their food aisle.....POCKY!! Yes, Pocky! But only one flavor (Chocolate) and one size (small).

While I am on the subject of this past weekend, at work I won another CD from WSTW, the station I listen to in my car & at work. I was the correct caller (#15) and my voice was recorded and played on the air! The CD I won was Lifehouse's "Smoke & Mirrors".

I had the whole place to myself when my parents and Foxxi went to Tennessee to visit my aunt. They returned home on Monday and ole Foxxi was so glad to see me!!
